Friday Favorites: September 1, 2017
It's Friday! And it's September too! How did that happen?!? Does it mean that I'm getting old, if time has begun to fly by, without my noticing? I'm pretty sure I heard my grandmother comment about "where does the time go" as I was growing up.
I have a new batch of Friday Favorites that I'm excited to share with you today. I also want to announce that I'll be changing things up, and my Friday Favorites post will now move to the first and third Fridays of each month, to allow for some other posts during those alternating weeks. Thank you for going on this journey with me, as I learn and develop in my blogging.

1. The Union Square Farmer's Market
I could write a poem about the Union Square Farmer's Market. I used to work around the corner from the market, so I could stop by during a lunch break. Now, it takes a bit more effort to make it here, and I'm always so glad when I do. Last Saturday my husband and I made a visit and picked up some fresh veggies and a beautiful bouquet of gladiolas from my favorite flower vendor. The market is open Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and it’s worth it to come before noon when the market is more calm. Pick up fruit and veggies directly from the farmer's in the Hudson River Valley, fresh bread, local honey, maple syrup, fruit preserves, and a whole bevy of other beautiful goods and produce.
2. Nars Blush
I hesitated to put this product on my blog, just because the name is a bit lewd. This blush is one of my favorites though, as you can see from the image here (I even managed to drop mine just before taking this photo). Mine is well used and well loved! When I first purchased the blush, I worried it would be too much of a coral tone. I find that during the summer when my skin tone has more orange in it, this product really gives a beautiful color and luminescence.
3. Silver Tai Sandals, Sam Edelman
I got these sandals back in June, and I'm especially loving them for this transition time between summer and fall. They're flat and quite comfortable, but still dressy enough to wear to go out to dinner, or with a dress or skirt. I love them in the silver and they also come in several other colors. And they're heavily discounted right now. Love a good sale!
4. Bernau Counter Stool, Williams Sonoma
An elegant and still practical counter or bar stool can be hard to find. One day, I'll do a whole post about counter and bar stools, but until then, these are a great option (and you can purchase them in either a counter stool or bar stool height). I love that they're elegant with touches of industrial/rustic with the leather seat. I would just as easily place these in a loft in Tribeca as I could in a cabin in Colorado, or a family home in Connecticut.
