MEET LAUREN

As the daughter of a self-employed graphic designer, I grew up sketching with colored pencils at my mother’s drafting table, and rearranging my bedroom. Art and design were always a part of my life, and I remember at 7 telling my Mom that when I grew up, I wanted to be “an interior designer of hotels, resorts, and spas”.

I began my interior design career in 2003, working as an intern with two local interior designers in my hometown of Tallahassee, FL. I went on to attend Florida State University where in 2007, I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design and a concentration in art and architectural history.

I spent the first few years of my career working in hotel and restaurant design, traveling to job sites throughout the United States and overseeing new build and renovation projects for Marriott and other hotel development groups. After several years in the hospitality design industry, I realized that my primary passion was working with home owners to design their dream homes. So in 2016 I launched Frances Lauren Interiors, with the vision to create timeless interiors combining both traditional and contemporary design, to convey a sense of unbuttoned elegance.

In 2019 my husband and I purchased our own dream home, an 1863 Queen Anne Victorian in a sweet town located conveniently between Atlanta and Macon.

In addition to my work as an interior designer, I’ve also created a collection of textiles (Lauren Servati Textiles) which I frequently incorporate into my projects. When I’m not designing, I love painting, scouting for beautiful antiques, and working with my husband to restore our beautiful home and gardens.
