Friday Favorites - July 21, 2017
It has been a steamy summer week here in NY, full of creativity, lots of work on a few interior design projects, and some summer fun as well. I attended a fashion and home textiles conference early this week, and connected with vendors for some interior design and home decor products I'm planning to roll out this fall (more to come, on that!). I've also been doing a lot of painting lately, both watercolors and acrylics on canvas, and I'm looking forward to sharing those with you soon. Without further ado, here are this week's Friday Favorites.
1. Fabric: Pleasure Gardens by Jessica Zoob for Black Edition
Being both an interior designer and a painter, I'm especially drawn to fabrics inspired by watercolors, or in this case, acrylic paintings. This velvet fabric has a bright and airy color palette that's perfect for an accent of summer color. I would use this for a pair of bolster pillows on a bed, for throw pillows on a sofa, or to re-upholster dining room chairs.
2. The East River Ferry
Summer in the city is all about the East River Ferry for me. For the price of a subway ride, you can get to Dumbo, Williamsburg, Governor's Island, and a whole host of other places. Given the choice of being on the subway or on a boat, I'll take the boat every-single-time!
3. Butler Coffee & Bakeshop, Williamsburg, Brooklyn
We checked out this café located near the Williamsburg bridge just last week. Kudos for hitting the mark on their coffee game, interior décor, AND delicious house-made baked goods (like this delicious chocolate babka pictured here). If I lived in the area, I would be here weekly.
4. Miniature Roses
My husband came home with this bouquet of miniature roses (forever romance) last week. I love roses, and I especially love these fragrant little pink miniatures. They feel sweet and unassuming, and remind me of an English garden.
5. Homemade Granola
My husband and I are granola fiends. We eat it nearly every morning with a bowl of homemade greek yogurt (recipe coming soon) and fresh fruit. You can use store bought granola, but it's just so easy to make. Try my recipe here.
6. The Carat Table Lamp from CB2
I was sourcing bedside table lamps for my client last week, when I came across this new table lamp from CB2. It's both clean and modern, with a touch of glam. I love it. I'd put this on the corner of my desk for additional task lighting (and inspiration!) or on bedside tables in a master bedroom.
