Friday Favorites - July 28, 2017
Happy Friday to you! Here are this week's Friday Favorites.
I discovered this dry oil when I was living in Paris in 2014 and it's been a go-to for me ever since. I love to take this when I travel as an all-in-one oil that I can use on my body, face, and hair. It's also now available through retailers in the United States. Score!
2. Tretiak Morrow Dresser from Rejuvenation
I was searching for table lamps for a client's project last week when I came across this dresser from Rejuvenation. I'm loving it! It bridges the gap between traditional and modern, and could go especially well in a home with other mid-century modern furnishings. I especially like this dresser in the autumn cherry finish with the handsome brass drawer pulls.
3. Rockaway Beach
Rockaway Beach is a NYC summer institution, and I've certainly made my way out there a couple of times so far this summer. Gone are the days of Rockaway taco (r.i.p.) but there's still arepas at Caracas to look forward to when you arrive. And with the East River Ferry (see more here) now shuttling boatloads of beachgoers to the Rockaways at an alarmingly reasonable rate, it's easier than ever to get here. Skip the subway, take the ferry, and get yourself to the beach!
I mentioned in a previous post, that I've been doing a whole lot of watercolor and acrylic painting lately. What's become quite obvious to me (a no-brainer for others) is the importance of good quality materials, namely paints, brushes, and a good paper or canvas. Shout out to my Windsor & Newton watercolor paints here (no ad)! My Mom gave me two of these watercolor sets several years ago when I was traveling more often, and they still work so well for me. Unlike other watercolor paints, the color is pure and saturated. A little goes a long way, and you get beautiful, bright colors in your artwork.
