Cast Iron Skillet Cornbread Recipe
Being of southern origin, I believe there must be a birthright that goes along with making good cast iron skillet cornbread and I wanted to share with you my favorite recipe.
In my household, cornbread is a mandatory addition anytime we have chili (one day I'll post that recipe too), but you can have cornbread alongside just about any other meal as well. My favorite rendition includes fresh corn kernels in the bread for added texture, but feel free to leave those out, if it's not to your liking.
I also use my Grandmother's cast iron skillet to make my cornbread, and I think this helps to add some extra goodness. I'm sure that you can bake this in other dishes as well though. Let me know in the comments below how this works for you!
