Simple Lighting Solutions: Plug In Wall Sconces
The past few years have seen a rise in this simple lighting staple: the plug-in wall sconce. The beauty of this fixture is that they’re high on style and often low on price. I also love that you don’t need to hardwire them, meaning no electrician required. Simply mount the fixture to the wall, plug it in to the nearest outlet, and you’re golden. Amazing. These fixtures work especially well if you’re renting and want to upgrade your lighting game, or if you’re a homeowner who is looking for a new lighting fixture without the hassle of electrical wiring (or calling a handyman to help). As you can imagine, the applications for these sconces are also plentiful, from replacing a traditional bedside table lamp, to lighting in a kitchen and spotlights over bookshelves. The options are (almost) endless.
Here I’ve also sourced 15 favorite options in a variety of colors, finishes, and styles. I’ve broken down the list by price point, from Cheap & Chic (under $80 per fixture), to Mid-Range (up to $150), and all the way up to Super Luxe ($150+). Personally I’m eyeing the Versailles Sconce by Jonathan Adler (also comes in all black) and I’d love to use it in a cozy library/study. Check these out and let me know which is your favorite and where you’d use it.
